Kintsugi Grief Group: Finding Beauty in the Broken is a therapeutic group experience designed for individuals navigating grief, loss, or significant hardship. The group uses Kintsugi—the Japanese art of “golden repair”—as a powerful symbol of healing, resilience, and meaning after loss.
Kintsugi honors the philosophy that breakage and repair are meaningful parts of an object’s history, highlighting cracks with gold rather than hiding them. In this experience, participants engage in the hands-on Kintsugi art process as a way to reflect on their personal grief journey and the ways loss has shaped them.
The group incorporates mindfulness practices, writing exercises, and facilitated group support to help participants process grief, build connection, and recognize strength within vulnerability. This experience offers a creative and compassionate approach to healing, inviting participants to see their brokenness not as something to conceal, but as a source of beauty, depth, and resilience.
